Therapeutic fun was created by Amber Knowles, CTRS, an educator and pediatric intervention specialist with over 10 years of experience working with children of various ages and abilities, specializing in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. As a behavior therapist and certified special education teacher, Amber saw the daily struggles not only of her students but also of their families. She often heard parents discussing the need for a place they could go with their children and engage them in various levels of positive reciprocated and reinforced play. After working in hospitals, schools, homes, and private clinics the concept for Amber Knowles How To Play was born with the idea of having a fun therapeutic space designed for children and their families to connect and maximize the potential parent to child, child to parent relationship. Amber's additional certifications include Handwriting without Tears and DIR/Floortime. She has taken extensive steps towards the continuation of her education through relevant coursework in pyschoeducation, assessment, ABA/VB, RDI, Beckman Oral-Motor Therapy, sensory processing, visual, fine, and gross motor impairments. She consults with families, therapeutic groups, and to a variety of preschool programs while specializing in the evaluation and treatment of infants through children 12 years of age.
